Brent Thomas Mills, a prodigious artist, producer, director, and DJ, has captivated audiences worldwide with his unparalleled musical and choreographic talents. His journey began at the tender age of seven when he learned to play the piano by ear. By twelve, he was already honing his skills in drum and bugle corps, and at fourteen, he embarked on his first tour. A true polymath, Brent also achieved the title of Latin Dance Champion by the age of seventeen.

Brent’s formal education includes a degree in Piano Performance from the prestigious Berklee College of Music and a degree in Composite Dance from Brigham Young University. His arrival at Brigham Young University marked a significant turning point in his career. He was swiftly hired to accompany modern and ballet classes, where he discovered his extraordinary ability to observe movement and almost instantaneously create complementary beats, rhythms, and melodies. This unique talent led him to play for luminaries such as the Martha Graham School, Alvin Ailey, and Doris Humphrey, profoundly influencing his creative development.

Brent’s move to New York City opened up further opportunities to innovate and design music for dancers, dance companies, studios, and competitions. His expertise quickly garnered attention, leading to his role as music director for national and then global dance competitions. His career took him to diverse locales such as Costa Rica, London, Dubrovnik, Shanghai, Tokyo, and beyond, touring 43 weeks a year and witnessing the universal celebration of music through dance.

With a prolific output of dance tracks, projects, and singles, Brent has firmly established himself at the pinnacle of the dance music world. After three decades of touring, directing, and producing, his project “Under the Covers” is a testament to his lifetime of experience, love for music, and movement.

The concept for “NiteLite” emerged after Brent attended a candlelight show featuring Hans Zimmer’s music. While the atmosphere was enticing, Brent noticed that the level of talent, creativity, and expression had been overshadowed by a corporate setup. This realization sparked his vision for a more genuine artistic experience. By integrating light into the musical journey, Brent’s “NiteLite” allows the audience to discover each song visually and musically, creating a silent yet profound interaction. This journey of musical discovery, illuminated at an individual pace, is designed to captivate and enchant audiences of all ages.
